I'm new to aquariums but absolutely love fish and want to do it right. I bought my tank three weeks ago and stocked it with starter fish. Problem is every pet store I visit contradicts all the books I've read. Any advice on how many fish I can put in a 22 gallon tank and which fish are good for beginners?
I was thinking of starting with gouramis any thoughts?

You're discovering the same problems most of us have - the difference in views given in formal text books, to those of your local fish store and even on here. Can all get very confusing!

Please check out the beginners section, in particular the pinned topics and FAQs at the top of the section, which will give you lots of helpful info.

If you then have any questions, just ask them in the beginner / tropical chit chat section and you'll soon have everyone clamering to give you advice!
