Newbie w a platy question

Question: is this normal behavior for platys? I thought they were relatively peaceful?

I have three adult platys— one male and two females. Both females are fairly new and looked preggers from the start. The male has latched on to the bigger female and hangs w her most of the time. He’s an absolute butt head to the other female and chases her every time he sees her. They are plenty of hiding spots for her but the male always ends up finding her and chasing. Ugh! I’m seriously thinking of taking this male out to stop the bullying and stop any future breeding.

Well it's like this... Imagine your this guy, right, then you have your girlfriend and you both like eachother but this other girl has this weird crush on you so you're trying to keep her away so your date with your GF ain't weird

If the bullying persists, and the female is becoming extremely stressed you may want to consider moving the bullied female to another tank.
That way the other two can still be together and be a pair.
That guy might just not want to cheat on his girl

perhaps he is trying to protect the big female because she is about to have babies

one of my female guppies was super aggressive when she was pregnant, and would nip everyone who came in like a 10cm radius

The big female(Bertha) only tolerates the male (Diego) and sometimes she gets fed up w his presence that she’ll chase him.

Ah ok so changing up my first story.
Say your this guy that really likes this one girl but she only tolerates you as a friend so when you get to "lovey" she snaps and puts you in your place, meanwhile there's this other girl that's off to the side and likes you but your too busy impressing the first girl that you just reject her.

There does that fit the situation better?

get rid of the male, they are a pain in the blank.
just have female or male livebearers only. don't mix sexes, one sex or the other
