I have been looking for ages on the web trying to work out what they are...can you guys help at all???

My tank is 2nd hand and has 2 of these lights set in the lid (140gl Tank)...someone on here suggested from the pics of the tank stripped down that it may have been a marine tank in the past but I am no closer to sorting this light problem out....I want to go tropical (not marine) are these lights (bulbs) suitable???

:*) sorry the pics are so big

the light you have on that tank are more expencive and brighter than normal tube you buy for your tank.
im sure ther metal halides which are about the best you can get i think, but then im no light expert.

It looks like a metal halide. I think the 150 stands for the wattage, which is pretty good for a 140g tank if there are two (just over 2watt/g). If you want more suitable bulbs for freshwater you could change them to 6700K bulbs. :) These are good for growing live plants.
