Good Morning!

Soon to be thirty something, UK based user here, and recently ventured into the world of fish-keeping. Been lurking on here for a while for information, help and research. Thought I'd finally say hello!

Currently have a 5 Gallon that I got on impulse but quickly realized that I need a bigger tank asap to give my fish the best quality of life.

Come payday got my eye on a Fluval 70L, as I want to have a betta sorority tank. Also looking at 20 Gallon Long but might need a new stand for that due to it's dimensions.

Hope to learn a lot and share my love for marine biology with fellow forum users!

:hi:
20G longs are quite hard to find in the UK.
Worth checking out the Clearseal tanks at Shirley Aquatics in Birmingham as they have a really big range of sizes. Just a bare tank but fairly inexpensive, especially if you live locally and don't have to pay for shipping. I was looking for a 20 long and ended up going for a 22 long (36x12x12") - love the size of that

Hello and welcome to the forum! :hi:

From everything I have read around TFF, 20g longs are hard to find in the UK. You may want to look at a custom aquarium shop.

Welcome! And may I say if I was you I would buy as many tanks as I could afford. One is never enough. Come to think of it 3 is never enough. Or 4 or 5 or...

Thanks for all the nice messages! I see 20 Long is rare, I will defo do some hunting!

As other members have already stated, 20 gal long tank is practically impossible here in U.K. unless go for custom tank.

But as someone mentioned, a ClearSeal 36x12x12 is pretty close, that is about 85-90 litres which is 20-22US gals.

I am a fan of those tanks, usually sold basic without filters & lights etc but can come with lid cover, hard to find those sometimes.

However lots of alternative filter and light fitting options for these tanks if you look around and use a little imagination.

In pic below is one of my tanks, that is a ClearSeal 36x12x12 and has tube lights fitting with diy stand on top of tank, heater hidden behind plants at back of tank and also had fluval HoB filter at side of tank, worked really well, one of my favourite tank I’ve had in past.

Kept whiptail, lambchop rasboras, Celestial Pearl Danios and black bar endlers, MTS and RCS in that tank and of course loads of live plants.
