Newbie Ro Questions

Just trying to get some information before I try anything salty, I understand the basic idea surrounding ro, I know its a pure sort of water to help keep the tank stable, but...
how much would I expect to pay for a basic unit?
how do I run the unit, what do I need to use it and how do i go about this?

Hi Ed and

A basic unit will cost you about £80 - £100. You will also need to figure in the cost of replacing the prefilter - I do this every 3 months & it costs about £25.

The unit works off mains pressure water - but if you have low pressure you will need a booster pump.

Ahhh, okay thanks, so I just leave water in there and it turns it to ro right?

The water is forced through under pressure - you connect it to you mains water and have 2 lines coming out. One will be product (RO water) and the other will be the waste.
