Ok I have my breeder tank setup and all but I have had my fish in it for 2 days and the male didn't eat a big meal before. This is my 1st try @ this. I have read a lot and it says don't feed him in the take it may cause hit to eat the babies, but if he has not ate in 2 days he might still eat them. So does anyone have a idea on what I should do. His nest is built and the female is full so I know it's juat a matter of time now. I just thought about this like five mins ago while watching them.

That's just the way it goes, some males are egg eaters and only practice will make them stop. Some will never stop. But as for your current situation at hand, you have no control over whether he eats the eggs or not. I hope you conditioned him well on live and frozen foods for two weeks otherwise he won't do well at spawning at all.

Anyhoo, to answer your question. Thier bodies pretty much turn off the 'hunger urges' while caring for their young.

Guess I just gotta wait and see and hope for the best. I keep ya posted Thanks.
