As a couple of you know, we managed to get 4 Zebra Plecos yesterday.
They are still a little shy but have ventured out a bit more since yesterday.
My partner managed to get photos of a couple of them so I thought I'd share them with you.

 nice plecs, stang1. All these zebra plec posts are making me jealous!

Did you say in the other thread that you reckon it's 2 males and 2 females?

Ahhhh they are gorgeous

Hope they settle in well - enjoy them :fun:

We believe so but with them being so small, it really is difficult to tell. When you look at pictures on the net, it seems so easy to sex them but when you have them there in front of you, it's a different story. They are only about 1 3/4" at the moment and it's amazing how tiny they actually are!

Thanks Bloo. ;)

Sexing zebs at that age is practically impossible and certainly not guaranteed. While adult males are easy to distinguish, young males and females are often very difficult to tell apart.
Congratulations on your new additions... :good:

Thanks Darkstar.
We've got plenty of patience thankfully, so hopefully as they get bigger we will be able to sex them properly!
I might light a couple of candles and play some Barry White, if we see them smooching with one another then we'll have our answer!

I've heard they're more partial to Marvin Gaye.

I think I read somewhere that the first person to breed neons put a pregnant woman's urine in the tank to add the hormones. :p yuck. not quite as subtle as barry white.

probably referring to a comment i once made, the bloke who runs the ledds aquarist society, he's about 90 something and was one of the first people to ever breed neons in this country, he did indeed put wee wee from a pregnant lady into the tank, only in minute quantities.

a lot of mass breeders trigger spawns by adding hormones to the water, probably in a slightly more sophisticated way by it's proven to work for certain fish

worries me a little that Ian knows this, he's the sort of bloke to want to test the theory and one day we want kids

 Alice!
It looks like it's Marvin Gaye then!
Luckily, we don't know any pregnant women, otherwise I'm sure my partner would give it a go!!
