New Wood

I bought a chuck of drift wood screwed to some slate at my LFS(I cleaned it before putting it in the tank). things were fine but I looked today and it has a white slime. I scraped it as best I could but I just looked and its still there. What could it be ??

Hi, sounds like a problem I had a few weeks ago. The advice I got was to to place the wood into boiling water with salt in and soak it overnight, then to rinse thuroughly the next day. This worked for me, I hope it does the trick for you
