New to the hobby

Hi all,
I got into the hobby because of my love of the ocean. I am landlocked in Kansas, but love to visit aquariums. I have already made mistakes with my set-up, but my fish are tough and I am willing to learn. I have a 10 gallon tank with 5 glofish, 1 petite female betta and 6 cori fish. I had the glofish added after two weeks of tank set up and then added the cori fish and the betta 7 days later, which I thought was okay due to advice at a pet store. Never trusting that advice again. The female beta was a rescue, but seems to not want anything to do with the others which is great. I am looking forward to getting smarter about this hobby.

Welcome aboard. One early lesson I learned is that understocking better than overstocking; much more margin for error.

I'm from Kansas too - Topeka - not an ocean in sight and 3 fish stores that I know of (that also carry other pet supplies). Get used to ordering online.
