Hey y'all!

Just thought Id say hi. Been lurking, stealing all you knowledge for a little while now, but finally joined and all that jazz.

My old man had fish when i was a kid, and I bought my first aquarium a few years ago.

Im rocking a Fluval Roma 200 (50g). stocked with Red Tail Bala, 2 Siamese Loaches, 3 neons, 3 threadfins, 4 platys, 2 mollys, 2 balloon molls and 2 new baby mollys.

What do you think of the stocking?

Im getting my dads old set up soon. Not sure whats with it but its a 4ft tank i think. I need ideas on what to put in here. Me and the misses want something striking and a little more specialised if you get what i mean. :)

Hit me with your ideas!

How dare you steal our knowledge! Am joking, welcome to the forums.

I also have a roma 200 or rio or something I donno.

What is a red tailed bala? Do you mean red tailed shark? If so they will quickly outgrow a small tank like that,

Welcome to "probably the best forum in the world" Liam (please excuse the plagiarism)

From what I have read on this forum and on the assumption that your neons are neon tetra, I would suggest that, if you have the room, you up the neon number to at least six.
The tetra are a shoaling fish, therefore the more the merrier and the more secure they will feel. I avoided the neon tetra due to what I read about neon tetra disease and have 12 harlequin rasbora instead. Again these are a shoaling species. 11 stick together and the other one can be found anywhere in the tank!!

In respect of your soon to be acquired 4 footer, before any one could realistically advise you on stocking it, we would need to know the dimensions of it.

Regards

David

oh and i have 5 penguin tetras. forgot to add that. Im just cautious not to over stock tho. Anyone else have problems with the Siamese loaches digging MASSIVE holes in the substrate? ive nick named them 'little sh*ts', because they are! haha!

i had 5/6 neons but i moved and lost 2. =(

Yeah it is a red tail shark even. my bad!

Not sure on the dimensions, im getting it on tuesday so wil know then.i think its 4'x18''x12'' deep.
