Hi guys and gals, I am new to the whoe breeding of guppies, platies, and mollies. I have two tanks, a 33 gallon tank and a 20 gallon tank. The smaller tank I keep my fry and in the big one all the adult fish. Right now I am trying to breed ballon mollies because they are my favorite. At the moment I have one creamsicle sailfin ballon molly(male), one black ballon molly(female), one gold dust ballon molly(female), and the other one looks like a mix of black, white and black spots also female. What can I do so the male can mate. Usually I don't see the male chasing the females around. Any advice will be helpful. Thanks!

First of all, welcome to the forum! :hi:

The male will mate all by himself. Chances are he already has mated. It doesn't take long, so you usually won't see anything. :) In a couplr of weeks you should see the females getting fatter (Though it can be hard in Balloons...but just judge against the male!), and the gravid spot expanding.

Also, it sounds you are prepared for fry, but just remember...you're going to have a LOT! All the livebearers you mentioned, are big breeders, and most will have fry every month.

Good luck, though! :D
