Hello everyone! You can call me "Steven." I'm new here and still don't know how to update my avatar, profile picture, signature (I'd really like to put something in my signature ).
I'm from the US, Boston, Massachusetts in particular, about eight km from the Atlantic Ocean. This is about as close as you can get to the UK without a jet or a good-sized boat. On the edge of the pond, you might say
I keep a 37.854L planted tank, started on 4-18-2012. Here's a pic:
Stem plants including Pennywort
Several Green Crypts
Echinodorus tenellus
Some Java moss that I can't seem to get rid of
Fauna: 5 Pristella Tetras
4 Panda Cories
Too many Malaysian Trumpet Snails to count.
I'm using Miracle Gro Organic Choice Potting Mix soil covered by an inch of black sand as a substrate. Seems to be working well. I also just started fertilizing using a modified Estimate Index method - 1/4 EI - have to see what it does. I think I can detect some increased growth speed but it's really too early to tell.
Anyway, it's very nice to meet you all, and I look forward to posting with you.
Best regards,
Steven
