Got a great deal on a chunk of xenia at my lfs, put it in my tank and after a few hours i noticed it was still closed and not pulsing. i moved it closer to the light, after a day and night its pulsing slightly but still not opening fully. is this a problem or could it still be settleing in ? it was quite active at the lfs.

Sometimes certain sp. never pulse in home aquaria according to Borneman's book.

My xenia has never pulsed during the 2 years I have had it with the exception of when I put live food in the tank, in particular when I collect plankton and put that in the tank, then they pulse. But otherwise they just sit there doing nothing.
