Hi,

I don't know that much when it comes to Marines, but have decided to start a Nano Reef.
I wish to keep simple soft-corals and some other inverts aswell as a few small gobies.

What would be a good sized nano? I would like to keep a 10 gallon but could possibly keep
a 20 gallon.

How much live rock would I need for a 10 gallon?

I can provide strong lighting, adequate filtration, protein skimmers, and the like, but how much
would all of this cost?

All opinions are welcome,

Thanks In advance,

Mike

Since I live nowhere near you Mike, I'll have to let other UK guys answer your cost questions. But one thought, skimming on a 10 or 20g isnt really necessary :good:

For live rock you need at least one pound per gallon, and a maximum of two pounds per gallon.

Yeah as stated above 1-2 pounds of LR per gallon, I like to stay on the higher side as this is your main provider of water filtration. As far as cost goes this is not exactly a cheap hobby to stat up but maintenance costs are not that bad. I've spent roughly $1000 cdn which is about $655 euro. But it's been well worth it. Good luck!

Thanks, Steelhearl. Those links were useful.

I've still got so much to learn about Marines.

Mike
