I've never kept marine fish before and i've been doing some research.

I am planning on keeping a sinlge pair of common clownfish and a single anemone. But i was just wondering what is the minimum tank size that they will happily live in?

clown fish dont need a anemone. plus anemones are hard to keep and you need a big tank. for clown fish i would say 90L or more :good:

Anemones will need a much large tank as most will reach about a foot in diameter. And like Harry said, they by no means need one. If you want a smaller tank and want them to host something, most will host various corals.

IMo the mimimum, is 125 litres for a pair of clowns but the official line is 91 litres or 20 gallons.

I kept a nem in an orca 550 which is 126 litres, he grew to about 10 inches, I then upgraded and he is now in a five footer. Nems need to be in a mature tank of at least six months old. However as Nemo said, most clowns will host something else is the tank, so a Nem is not needed to see hosting behaviours.
