Below is an excerpt from a new article in Advanced Aquarist about a new discovery...one I hope hits the hobby soon.

"Hidden in one of Australia's most developed and fastest growing areas lives one of the world's smallest freshwater crayfish species. Robert B McCormack the Team Leader for the Australian Crayfish Project described the new species belonging to the genus Gramastacus, after 8 years of research in the swamps and creeks of coastal New South Wales, Australia. The study was published in the open access journal ZooKeys."

Australia has quite a few dwarf crayfish, also some real monsters. Sadly not all of our native crays/ shrimp etc have been described or formally named. But all natives are protected and hard to get into the hobby.
The insanity of Australia is that a person living overseas has more chance of having a pet sugar glider than I do as an Australian resident.

awwwwwwwwwwww would love one of these could probably keep it in one of those 'fish tanks' they call betta bowls better known as a vase
