Let me start off with saying that this is my very first tank

I just set up a new 20g fresh water tank 2 weeks ago. I did a big no no and did not wash my imitation plants prior to putting them into the tank, and ended up with some green algae floating around. On my friends suggestion I then emptied the tank, washed every thing (in tap water) and started over last Friday. I put in the dechlorinator and ended up with some bubbles in the filter area. My friend said that this was normal and that it would dissipate over time. It has now been 5 days and the bubbles have yet to go away. I am planning on populating the tank (My friend is moving and is giving my daughter his 5 mollies, 1 tetra and 1 lemon snail) this weekend and I am wondering if I should be concerned with the bubbles in the filter.

Any information would be greatly appreciated

Patrick

Yes, I have an air pump running a 6" bendable hose/snake, running along the rear wall, a 2" disk on left side of the aquarium and a 2" air rock on the right side front corner of the aquarium.

Can you have to much air running through the aquarium?

Have you read any pinned topics on cycling your tank? I am not entirely sure how hardy the above mentioned fish are, but if you are planning to cycle with these fish, then I would suggest that you be prepared for a few fish losses(just in case your daughter gets upset).
