New tank

I'm waiting for news about a job and if i get it I've already spied my first purchase.

In one of my lfs I've seen a nice tank. It's between 3 and 4 ft and there's hardly any height on it (its about half the height of my existing tank) and as soon as I saw it I started getting visions of an all catfish tank (I'm a sucker for cats!).

I so want to get this job now..

That's great news! What kind of a job is it? I'm curious to hear what kind of catfish you'd put in your prospective tanks...

it's looking after the college animal house at weekends and holidays.

Get to spend all my time with iguanas, terrapins, geckos, spiders, rabbit, guinea pigs, chinchillas, mice, rats, hamsters, gerbils... and two big, beautiful tanks

I'm still thinking of the catfish I'd add, going to try and get a gallon size on the tank first before I start planning anything

Oh, you meant actual animals.

Sounds like it would be a lot of fun! What kinds of tanks does the college have?
I don't know what I would do if I were planning a catfish tank, although I confess I'd like to have a school of upside down cats...and I've always wanted a bristlenose or two...

they've only got a tropical and a coldwater. The coldwater one isn't all that impressive to be honest - the tropical is much much nicer. It's between 4 and 5 ft and despite being your basic community tank there;s nothing special about it really, I just love it to bits.

They do want to set up a marine tank as well but they can't afford the money to set it up. I'd love it if they decide to set it up in the end.. only chance I get to work with marine is over my cousins.

One idea I was toying with was just having a huge gang made up of various varieties of cory cats but then I remembered we have a place down here that can get virtually any fish you want so I'm going to do a lot of pondering about it.

Sounds great. How about a nice shoal of Cories aswell. They're great in groups and their courtship 'patting' is so funny
