New tank!!

I just scored a 35 gallon (US) tank and stand from my aunt ! It had an under gravel filter, but i decided not to use that. She also gave me a hood and a light but the hood isnt in very good condition....it also is kind of dirty.....so i wanted to know what steps i need to take to clean it and what i need to do to get it ready to cycle.


Any help will be appreciated!!!!

Use a wety rag and might want like a penguin 125 for filter IMO best hang-on filter

The Penguins do indeed rock. I have a 29g (US) tank and use the Penguin 170. Thinking back I'm glad I splurged on the bigger filter. There's no such thing as overfiltration, right?
