New Tank

So far have only a 55 gal tank and a Penguin 330. What else should I be looking for? This is my first tank. Any and all help would be appreciated.

What fish do you like? Have any really caught your eye at the LFS or online?

I'd take a look at the pictures posted in members aquarium pictures to get an idea, If you are thinking of a planted tank, by alll means check out what works best before you get going so you can get the right substraight, lighting etc. Have fun!

Dont know exactly what you have yet but here are some things you will/might need: Heater if required in your location, gravel/sand or some type of substrate(the pros and cons of each are mentioned here in the forum), plants if desired, lighting, rocks, bog wood, other decorations and ornaments. Once you decide what type of fish you want then read up on what type of environment they like and start asking questions here. There are many people here who have a wide range of knowledge that can help you if and when you need it. The most important thing is to educate yourself by reading and asking questions as the life of your new fish will depend on it as will your enjoyment in this hobby.
