I would do the platy type background untill say you get more plants and stuff and then change it as you go on.. iv had about 15 backgrounds on mine... lol

I think black is the best in any fw tank, but that's just my opinion.

thanks everyone.Ill take more photos as I go along.always ready to show my prize possession off!!!!! :hey:

its a gorgeous tank,my not so good photography doesnt do it justice!

Ive bought a huge plastic plant called 'seanery' its a bamboo thing and its supposed to block in the end of the tank a bit and create a bit of cover on the surface of the water.Im hoping it will stop the sharks getting spooked when people go near the tank.

I hope to get a lot of live plants in there and sand substrate. My 4 ft will now become a community tank once the fish have moved, watch this space however as my 5 year old daughter has claimed the 4ft tank already!!!!!!!!!!! :fun: :*

Nice pictures! :D Your tank is going to be great (I bet you are sooo excited!)....your fish look fabulous but may I ask what are the eel type fish in the pot? I've never seen anything like them before...

the eely things are reed fish.sometimes known as rope fish.great characters but eat anything small enough to get in their mouths and are great escape artists but they are fun to watch and not aggressive, well my 3 arent!
