I'm gettin a 55 gallon aquarium in about a month or sooner. I plan on transfering everything in my 30 gallon to the 55 gallon like sand, driftwood, and plants. I also have a filter with a bio-wheel which has a ton of this brown stuff on it which I'm guessin is beneficial bacteria.

If i put all my old water and the other things would i have to do a cycle?

Yea I dont really plan on gettin any more fish at the moment. Cuz i need to save up for a ehiem which ive heard are really good.

Move everything over to the new tank. The water doesn't have any beneficial bacteria in it so it won't help in cycling BUT the fish are accustomed to the pH of the current tank water. What is the pH of you tank water compared to that of your tap water. If they are very similar, you can go ahead and top off the tank once you move everyone over. If there is a pretty big difference (say the driftwood brings the water down .4 after it is in the tank for example) then I would finish adding the extra 25 gallon onver a 2 to 4 day period until you get the tank full. Mainly just enough to get the water level high enough for you filter and heater to work. That way you won't change the pH significantly at first.

My tap water is about 7.4 and my aquarium water is about 7.2. So about a .2 difference. But i would be adding more sand i think that raises the Ph more.. or was it down? I forgot. :X

Most sand shouldn't affect your pH unless your using some type of coral based sand. They do make some that people use for cichlid tanks that will raise it.
