new tank what fish

hi everyone i just got a new tank its 32 gallons (144 liters) any idears what to put in it i want something odd and intresting ..but not a pufer (sorry guys they scare me)and something that wont out grow my tank in the next 6 months ..i realy like knife fish my friend has a clownknife and hes amazing to watch but i think it would get to big to fast ..i dont know any idears anyone
