Within the next week or so i will be taking delivery of a 4ft by 2ft by 2ft tank, and am after ideas of what to stock it with. I'm a great lover of cichlids, so my convicts and firemouths may end up in there, as may my severums. Any others ideas??

Discus would be nice with huge masses of corys.

Like a male and female of all the cory species (well not all but many)

Cool idea, looks like my newly acquired dragon goby wil be going in there as well.
Not with convicts firemouths and severums i hope!!!!! The dragon goby wont stand a chance of ever getting any food and will starve with those as tankmates, thats if the convicts dont beat it to death first.
Discus with those fish is not a good idea either, they need nice calm tank mates which allow them to take the lions share of the food.
A tank with those dimensions is roughly 100 uk gallons which after taking the rough adult size of a pair of each of those cichlids leaves you around 60" of fish length to play with,a good size plec like a gibby or common would be a good addition to clean up after the messy cichlids and a medium sized shoal fish like tiger barbs or giant danios to act as target fish for the cichlids aggression would also help.
