New Tank Species Compatibility

Alright we have the 55 gallon up and ready to go. Our plan is to start with African cichlids. 2 elec yellow 2 elec blue either a frontosa or jewel. We also want to include a jack Dempsey and dalmatian molly. Are these compatible?

The molly definitely doesn't belong in that mix.

Most Rift valley ciclids need species (or at least a biotype set up; ie, all Malawis) tanks. JDs are actually not tough enough to stand up to Africans.

They also have to be crowded to spread out agression; you could have big problems if you only introduce a few at a time. I'd post in the 'Old World cichlid' forum and ask their advice.

Thanks for the advice. we are going to start with 8 -10 fish. i will repost in old world cichlid.
