If you manage to get more LR, id remove the filtration media out of the cannister filter and replace it with a phosphate remover and carbon. A Lee's Skimmer, the air driven model, is very finicky, and its tough to get right. I have one, and run it periodically whilst at home on the weekends, because I know it will not stay at the right settings all day LOL. Get a hang on back, HOB, skimmer. Much easier, and do a much better job.

Good idea on seeding the sand bed, you wont need live sand. :good:

Skip the internal filter and go with a powerhead. It will give you more flow, and let your LR do fltration. An internal powerfilter packed with LR rubble sounds good, but the low flow will restrict your LR's filtration capacity, which will do a much better job of filtration than a few hundred grams of LR rubble packed around a slower internal filter!

T8's are doable, especially if your not doing hard, light requiring corals straight away. Stick with some mushrooms and Zoanthids, and other less light requiring corals, and a few T8's (generally 2 or more) will suit!

Goodluck, sounds like your on the right track! :good:
