New Tank Question

i have just started my new saltwater tank, it is 75 gallons and i have been buying live rock....it has been cycling for about 1 1/2 weeks now and i came home today and there is brown algea EVERYWHERE!!....i just wanted to know if this is normal and do i keep letting it grow or get rid of it.....plz respond...thx

Its normal. As soon as its done cycling, you can get a cleanup crew for the sand, hermits do well. Tap water will definitely make brown algae worse. You can clean it as much as you want to make it look better, but it will not diminish until it's ready im afraid.
