I moved to a new Office and that ment room for a Fish tank my first. I wanted a Community Tank...I talked with a friend who raises Angles, and he gave me some tips.

I set up the tank and let it "Run" for a week with the water, filter, Water treatment and aquarium salt, and decorations...no live plants. After 6 days, I added 4 Red Tailed Rasbuoras (sp) They liked the space after the crowded Wal-Mart Tank where I got them...after a week of doing well, I added 4 Black Tetras...was this a good move? I don't know...the red Tails school, with one bold one who sometimes swims in the bubbles at the back of the tank. The tetras have devided the tank into 4ths, with the big one taking the space right under the feeding door. All the fish look to be fine, and accept for the occasional arguments between the tetras, all is well....So yesterday I introduced a Julii Cory Cat...He has great personality...and he just acts like the other fish arn't even there...ITS HIS TANK...

I havn't noticed any problems...do you see any mistakes I am making...somthing I should watch out for...

I want to add maybe a Red Tailed Black Shark, and a Betta, or Angle at a later date...

Any suggestions for the newbie?

Thanks

Hi, and welcome to the Forum. :)

I suggest you read the pinned article titled "Avoiding and Treating new tank syndrome". Lots of good info for starting up a tank.

Best of luck!

This is a 7 Gallon plastic tank...2 1/2 pounds of gravel, with 3 bushy plants, and 2 tall ones (Not Live Plants)...I also have a hollow stump, and a couple of rocks for hiding and relaxing.

I just sawe the post on no salt for the cory cat, oops...I will not add any more, but he seems to be doing fine...he has only been in there 24 hours.
