hi all,
i bought a 20g tank yesterday 2nd hand, it came with two inches of crushed coral and sand substrate,
lights and an askoll internal filter.
i then went to local fish shop and bought red sea sand(£20) and was advised id need £90 worth of live rock.
i aim to keep two clown fish to begin, so really i need to know,
what are the basics i need to get the tank fish ready with a view to adding the live rock in stages,
£90 of live rock this close to xmas isnt going to happen lol
do i need external filter as min and will dechlorinated water do as there wont be fish in tank for while,
thanks paul

If you read up on the marine threads, you will surely find what you are looking for.

Ig you have live rock (cured) there is no need for a filter, as the rock will be your source of filtration, and also, dechlorinated water is fine, aslong as you dont intend on keeping corals, if you do want corals in the future you will have to use RO water.

Hope that helps some of your questions, but as i said, there are many threads, relating to your questions in the marine section.
