Hi there

Just bought myself a new 420 litre oak tank from maiden head aquatics ( how exciting).

Thinking about stocking Malawi fish has any one got any ideas for me as i would really like a well stocked good looking tank.

Thanks a lot

Nick

Great sized tank :good: :good: I`m biased as I have 2 of the oak tanks from MA too

Have a look here for some ideas on Malawi/Mbuna that you might like:

Both me and mark (bottom 2 posts on the thread) have/had a good mix of different species, it`s the compatibility that can be most difficult but I`m sure we can get you sorted with some suggestions.
You will need to overstock to cut down on aggression and over filtrate to compensate for the overstocking. 1 male to every 2 or 3 females of most is the best ratio to look at keeping. Regarding the bottom feeders, synodontis petricola, synodontis multipunctatus or bristlenose plecs tend to be capable of holding their own against most malawi/mbuna providing they`re a decent size when introduced. :good:

Got some nice fish posted in the mbuna section elise :good:
