New Tank For Our Betta - Cycling Advice Please *added Pic*

Hi all

We currently have a male Betta in our community tank but I am pretty sure the barbs are bullying him, so this morning I bought him a nice new tank all of his own.

Hopefully going to get it set up tonight. Anyone got any advice about cycling it?

take some of your filter media from the community tank and put it in the new betta filter. you can use up to 1/3 of the media from the mature filter. make sure you replace what you take. hopefully it will fill the new filter and will be cycled and ready to go. only way to know when the new filter cycles is to do water testing and changes as appropriate until it iscycled. but could be one of the instant cycles if there is enough old media in the new filter.

Here it is at the mo, the decoration isn't complete, I want some decent silk plants in there, but they were just some we had lying around to just start it off.

hiya after testing water today and all levels were fine we have now placed him in his new home
