I'm looking to buy a bigger tropical tank.

This might sound bizzare but does anybody know of an online or lfs that does finance? Or something similar as money is really tight at the mo and could do with fortnightly / monthly payments.

Thanks in advance,
Sam.

Maidenhead Aquatics offer a 0% interest deal......but don't expect to find something very cheap.

Why would you want to go in debt for a hobby? That is a very dumb idea. The only time you should ever finance anything is if what you are buying will go up in value (like say your house) and even then only to fulfill a need.

Cheers for the reply guys I'm in the u.k yeah in Birmingham . So that could be ideal for me to be honest!

Sam

I'd go with maidenheads. There tanks are good quality and the stands are very nice and solid. I was thinking about finance with them but I don't think they do a tank as big as what I want so I'm saving my money bit by bitt and getting a custom tank from nd aquatics. My rio 400 will do for now

Sign up for a new credit card that offers 0% interest for first 12 months then use that to buy the tank . . just make sure you pay it off in time!

Or just save up until you have enough to buy what you want outright...

In my local Maidenheads in Nottingham the other week they had an ex-display tank, usual RRP was £445, they had it up for £150. Not sure what size it was as I wasn't looking for another tank, but it did strike me as being a bargain. As far as I could tell, it was pretty much unmarked aswell.

If this was a maidenheads own tank it sounds like for £445 originally it would be a 2 or 3 footer. Good price at £150 though. I think the biggest they do is 6 foot x 2 x 2 which is no good For me unfortunately :(

Do yourself a favour and please don't get into debt especially for a fish tank. All of us on here obviously love it as a hobby and spend a fair bit of money doing it but it is never worth debt especially with the economy as it is. Just save and wait you'll enjoy it so much more without having debt in the back of your mind. Just my advice

Thanks for all the advice guys I was only looking at spending around 100 pound and paying it off pretty quickly. I'm going to look into it more today anyway :)

much better off buying somthing second hand and paying cash if thats all your spending. £100 wont get you a lot from a shop.
