hello I just set up my tank as of wensday 10 gallon.. I washed eveything nice and clean graval eveything no soap used all plain water.. I am currently doing a fishless cycle I added all my bactrea stuff my water was clear for maybe 2 days.. now it is hazing up is this normal? what can I do to fix this problem?

I asked the same question last week, however i was doing a cycle with fish and it went cloudy after 2 days. I believe this to be a bacteria bloom and is normal, as i said i did mine with fish so they were producing the ammonia. Im a week into my fish-ful cycle now and my water has lost the cloudiness and is almost clear again.

I wouldnt worry if i were you at this stage.

Yes this is normal and will almost certainly be a bacteria bloom, nothing to worry about and will clear up. :)

ZX, are you using ammonia or fish food to cycle your tank? I would second the thought that it is a bacterial bloom unless you aren't adding ammonia (either pure of through fish food). What are your readings for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

ZX..common problem. There are a lot of posts on this. Don't worry. If the cloudiness is white, it is a bacterial bloom as state above. I did a cycle with fish. It took over six weeks for my tank to completely cycle and then the cloudiness resolved after 8 months. My advice...just be patient. Don't overfeed when it is time to add fish. Resist adding any chemicals such as clarifiers. Good luck. SH

Someone should add a pinned thread about cloudiness. May be a good idea. :)

yep its proberbly a bacterial bloom.mine took about 3 days to clear up but i cycled using ammolock and bactozym
