well......what a suprise i got today!!!!!

only 3 days ago i tested the water of my new tank and the nitrite level was higher than red light district worker on crack!!!!!! :hyper:

i tested it today and all the parameters were perfect.....ammonia was nil.....nitrites were nil and the kh and gh were good.....cant remember the numbers tho hahahahaha.....oh and pH was 7.4

does 'the change' usually happen this fast? its only in its 3rd week of cycling

so anyway.....i got 2 fish for my little tank just until the larger tank was cycled.......i got a albino red finned rainbow shark and a blind cave fish......which ive never ever seen for sale anywhere

do the blind cave fish require any special treatment/environment?

oh.....and my fighter doesnt seem too happy.....he's staying in the same spot at the top of the tank...any ideas whats up with him?

cheers guys

Tek :fish:

You should watch the shark, they grow rather large. How big is your tank? They can reach 9" and can be aggressive to tankmate. The blind cave fish eats by smelling for its food. No special care really. Whats the betta in and what are the water parameters in that tank? Or is he in the tank you tested?

the sharks in my 180l tank........didnt know they grew that much tho!!!!!

the fighter is in my 10 gal.....he's been there over a month n been fine.....the parameters are good....nil ammonia...pH 7.2.....nitrites are 0.25 ppm....temp is 78 degrees f
