I have a 56g tank its 24inches tall, 18inches deep, and 3inches wide. I have the 50/50 coralife bulb..which is 40watts.

I should have about 120 shouldn't I?

Well, I don't really have the money for that right now, but my friend gave me a co2 injector, the brand is nutrafin if that matters.

I don't have the directions or anything so how does this sound..
Fill it to a certian point with normal sugar(he showed me where)
and the co2 packet
then the rest with water..
then put the little grid thing in the tank..(does it matter where? Like should I put it at the bottom?)

Right now there aren't any plants..they kept dying on me. Should I put some in first, or get this set up first..if it matters.

Will this make up for the lighting? Should I add in fertilizers??

Any tips at all?

Sand is my substrate.

it isnt enough, they only do a 15g tank but if you want more, then dont buy that, use a DIY one:

With the lighting, stick to anubias, vallis, bolbitis, java fern, mosses, onion plant, amazon swords, hygrophilia polysperma, elodea densa...

dont use the packets that come supplied, use bakers yeast, add 1 teaspoon.

Dose an off the shelf fert weekly according to manafacturers instructions, nutrafin plant gro is rubbish IME
