New Spawn

well i thought it was about time i got spawning again, so i set up a small spawn tank and introduce the male ( yellow / blue marble HMPK ) and let him settle in for a few days, then introduced the female ( dark blue MGPK) into a plastic pint tumbler. let them get re-aquanted (male lived in a small tank in the sorority for a month so he knows all the girls well) for a couple of days. last night i let her out when i got back from work, then went to get my tea and watched a bit of tv. went to cheack on them about 2 hours later and the female was milling around at the bottom of the tank looking for something to eat and the male was shooing her away if she came close to the nest. i looked into the nest and was stunned to see clusters of eggs already. must be my fastest spawn yet!! and the best bit, the girl came out of it without so much as a scratch!!

hehe thanks, yeah its been a while. i had some bad luck with me fishes of late but things are back on track now im so excited about the babied comming hehehe

BABIES!!!!!!!!!!!!! i took a glace at the nest last night and couldnt see any eggs and thought he had eaten them, but he was still tendig the nest. an egg fell and he picked it up and spat it back in. i looked in straight after getting home from work and the nest is full of wriggers!!! hes being a good dad so far, i took some pics (darn USB better hurry up). havent had babies for over a year its soo exciting!!!

Dad is an amazing colour and love the little tails. Just managed to make them out with my failing eyesight lol

id like to get some of both types, the girl is STUNNING when she colours up properly, she has realy distinct MG and her body is almost black! the male has some light marbling and i love marbles, so id like to get some more of that.

lol id lke to get a male in the mums colours and start a strain with them, and a girl in the dads colour and start a srain there

Having said that....,one of our spawns last year gave us half and half so you might be lucky!!!
