I have decided to go for the following external filters for my new Rio 300 (67 gallon) cichlid set-up (it has no Juwel internal filter)
- Eheim Pro 2 2026, got it for £89.95 and free delivery brand new with ehfimech and substrate media, its rated for 350 litres, 4.9L filter volume, 950 litres/hour pump output and 650 litres/hour filter circulation
- Aqua Pro 1, got it for £26 plus £9 delivery brand new, no media, says its rated for 200 litres and is 640 "litres per hour"
My main questions are this
1. i ordered a seperate Spray Bar for the eheim as i presumed it doesnt come with one. Was only £3.50. Does the spray bar reduce the flow of the filter (i.e. create less turnover in the tank)?
2. I have two externals for this tank, shall i use 0, 1 or 2 spray bars?
3. Shall i position the "in take and out take" pipes of these two filters at opposite ends of the tank?
