The three scats I added last Wednesday aren't getting along so well . . .

The smallest one is a punk! He attacks the other two relentlessly, chasing and head butting them non stop. I added some fake plants and decorations hoping this would help but it hasn't. One of them is now looking really bad. His spots have completely faded and he's looking sickly.

I'd like to make some caves and hiding places. Does anyone know if slate is suitable for brackish water?

Any other ideas? I suppose I could take the aggressive scat back. :/

Slate is inert so perfectly safe for brackish and all other tanks.

To tame the aggression you could try adding a couple more scats or another schooling midwater fish like monos, my 2 scats were quite aggressive to each other at first but since the addition of the third scat and 3 monos they have settled down considerably. Scats are generally a peacfull species which could be likened to severums in terms of aggression, when newly introduced there will be a bit of violence as they sort out a pecking order but this "should" stop after a while, this said there are always exceptions and you could just have a rouge which may have to be removed.

Okay I will give it some time before I resume freaking out.

I noticed the aggression kicks in whenever there's food in the tank. They are schooling right now. Dorks

I was thinking of adding the columbian sharks now. I thought maybe that would mess up the bully's territory which, at the moment, is the entire tank.

One down, one to go . . .

The bully had his first victim  He's now working on his second. Looks like I picked a rouge. I'll be taking him back asap.
