looks like wild guppies (or endlers but def poecilia)
just like the one in my pfp! it's nice you can get those where you live. nice mosquito control
one male and a few females.
they look kind of underweight and stressed so make sure to give them good care in the pond or something

Need better pictures but I'm going with guppies and Galaxias.

Put them in a clean tank that hasn't had other fish in and give them a week to settle down, then post more pictures. If you put them in a tank with fish bought from a pet shop, they can catch diseases from the shop fish and die. Most native fishes/ wild fishes have not been exposed to most of the diseases found in common aquarium fish and don't do well when they are exposed to them. So putting them in a clean tank and keeping introduced species away helps keep them alive for longer.

Guppies aren't native to Australia but the Galaxias are and they suffer a high mortality rate if put in with other introduced species, so give them a clean tank.

Visit the local library and look for the following books. You might also be able to find books called "A field guide to freshwater fishes of Queensland" or "Field guide to freshwater fishes of eastern Australia" and they would be worth a read too. The department of fisheries or department of agriculture might sell them or know where you can get them from.

On this book at the link below, amazon (they aren't getting a capital a coz they screwed up the author's name), the authors are Gerald R Allen, Mark Allen and Hamar Midgley
