Just picked these up from Kesgrave tropicals! (he had every kind of shrimp so it was hard to pick!)
but these fellas were too quirky to miss!

After a 5 hour acclimatise their just getting to look around their new tank and meet the neighbours!
I love the fact their "true" swimmers, they glide and steer around like minature helicopters.
The guppies are a bit puzzled that there are now shrimp swimming around, one fry accidentally headbutted it!

wow that looks awesome!! how big are they?? lets say compared cherry shrimp? or are they big like amano shrimp?

I have rhino shrimp too; they are gorgeous! I particularly like their googly eyes :) Shame they need brackish conditions to breed :(

CA; they get to about an inch and a half long, bit bigger than cherries, but not as big as Amanos.

Your Rhino shrimp is closely related to my Darwin Red Nosed shrimp, and also anther native (to Australia) long nosed shrimp, but I think I am lucky in the fact that one of the types I am able to get does breed in pure fresh. I think the key to breeding them will not only be the use of green water and the smallest possible micro foods but also the compalition of the salt for a temporary brackish tank for the larva before being transfered/ acclimatised back to fresh water.
