Where the deer and the antelope play
Since there are a lot of artistic do-it-yourselfers on here, I thought some of you might like to see this.

Some of you know that I'm a primitive archer. (though hopefully it's the archery that's primitive, not the archer :) ) A year ago, I made my first primitive kill on a mule deer buck. Since this was a very special deer, I decided to keep the hide and make a new arrow quiver. The leather is naturally bark-tanned. The trim is badger fur, decorated with pewter celtic cross buttons and hammered pewter beads.

(The arrows, in case you're wondering, are home-made from spruce wood, wild turkey feathers, and aniline dye. The knife is a replica of Otzi the Iceman's dagger, by Condor Cutlery. The bow is a 60# black locust self-bow by Curt Brisky. The hairdo is by Covid 19)

You must be pretty good at shooting arrows. Can you shoot an apple off someone’s head at 20 feet?

I keep asking Mrs. Badger to donate her cat for such an experiment, but she's very closed-minded about it.

Thanks for the kind words, everybody. My next task: Become a good enough shot that I don't feel slightly silly carrying around such a fancy quiver. ha ha ha

That quiver is so cool! I've always wanted to try archery. It looks like so much fun.
