new pleco!

recently i got a chocolat albino pleco for my 20 gallon comunity tank. He cleans up realy well on all the algea on my wall, plants, ornaments etc. When i got him the lfs i bought him from suggested I drop a couple of algea tablets in the tank and he'll devor them within a couple hours but the just don t seem to disapear. he causiosly approcehs like sucks on it for about 3 seconds and then never touches it again.
are there any tips or hints that will help me get my plec on algea tablets?

you can try to leave the lights off for a while. they come out more when it is dark. also, you can boil a pice of cucumber and skin it, then let it cool. my plecos love the cucumber. they eat the soft inside section out.
