That will be the stocking so far. The tank will be heavily planted and i would like a lice looking plec that i will see alot and most importantly wont pull up or damage plants.

Plecs under 8"

Check that pinned article out Ginge, if you haven't already. :)

L200's are really nice Ginge, if you can get hold of 1.

I have an L200 and he is wicked! Apparently he won't get any bigger than 10" and he's out and about all the time. He's shy if you walk up to the tank - but seems to be getting over it. Plus they are are a really cool colour - bright green/yellow with yellow spots.

If you can get one of these guys i would go for it (common name is Green Phantom Plec) :good:

are they good community-type fish?
how long have you had your L200?

We've only had him for 3ish weeks, but he hasn't bothered any other fish in the tank. We have also just got a Royal plec and he has taken a bit of a dislike to him but advice I've got about that is that it is just a pecking order thing and will settle. Also, I think he liked being the only plec in the tank and the Royal has put his nose out a bit. I would think he would ok with your BN's as they were in first - but then I'm not a plec expert! We also have 2 high fin catfish but he hasn't bothered those at all - just the new plec.

L077 Rusty Plec (also known as Violet Plec or Bruno Plec). Planet Catfish says it will reach 10" I think, but I read somewhere else it's more like 6-8. Not sure on that though. Doesn't help that Planet Catfish revised the info on their page, and took out the average size info!

Here's my fella (he's a 2" baby):

I used to have one and i never used to see him. They are really nice though i dont think that much is known about them.

I hope I don't offend  but if I was you, I'd consider a smaller species if it's going in with 3 BNs in a 55g. My tank is about 46g (give or take) and we have a 4-5" gibby, a 3-4" Royal and a 1.5" BN and it's getting crowded, we'll be upgrading soon. I assume your BNs are mature?

Sorry

Edited to add: Completely ignore the above, I read your earlier post as "want a plec 8 inch +" when you said you don't want that. I need my specs on, sorry sorry sorry.....

In response any way the plecs i have now are only juvies about and inch. There is also a bn in my cichlid tank i ahvent seen for moths that i dont know if it is still alive. I think i will get atleast 1adult to start as i doubt the juvies will all make it.
