New Otto

so yeah recently i picked up an otto for my 10 gallon to get rid of some off the algea. He is really small and just kind of sits there. In my tank theres this algea all over the sand and i was wondering if the otto would eat some of it?

Do you only have 1 -> they need to be kept in small to medium size schools. At least 3
I had 4 and they where really cool
