Congrats on your new oto
If you dodn't know Otos are very social community fish and like to have buddies. From what I have read they become very stressed out otherwise. With my experience of otos I have always had at least 3 in my tank.
They are usually really good at cleaning up algae but if they eat it all they have no food and many otos die because owners are not aware of that. So i would advise getting algae wafers or try microwaving spiniach in a dish of water for awhile so it softens and put it in the tank. With my personal experiance the spinach floats so i put stuff on top or pin it with a plastic plant but not all my ottos like spiniach so i said scrw it and bought the wafers.
Give them a place to hide too! They are usually active fish but they like to hide sometimes.
