New Old Skimmer!

Hey received my skimmer today. It is extreamly dirty obvs just used a lot. How can I clean it? What can I/ cant I use? Do I need to be careful with it?
Also got some salt so am nearly ready to fill the tank Just got to sort out the plumbing as I had a few problems as the weekend and got annoyed with it haha! Also needed to wait for the skimmer as worried it won't fit in the cuboard and gotta check if I want the plumbing going in the side or through the middle! haha

Clean it with normal water and a good scrubbing brush!! What kind of dirt?? If it's algae soak it in RO first!

You should be able to open it up nd clean the insides!!

Use Vinegar, best stuff ever. You can also soak it in a vinegar/water mix. Just rinse it well afterwards.

Wasn't sure if it was ok to use the vinegar on it!!! I think it is just general marine-y type stuff. It smells a bit so keeping it wraped up haha!
If I use normal tap water and vinegar, clean and scrub etc then maybe soak it for a day in RO water would that be good?
Once I sort it I might need advice on how it works haha!
