I'm planning on startin a nano reef next week. I'm getting 12 gallon nano cube off drfosterandsmiths.com. It is fan cooled and says it has intense lighting for corals. What else do I need? List everything!!

can you be more specific about intense lighting?

Is it a jbj nanocube? If you haven't ordered yet, i heard the biocubes are better than the jbj.

I would take out the bio balls or whatever comes in teh back and replace that with LR rubble, phosban, maybe carbon?

You also will need 12 lbs of LR and sand if you choose.

I don;t know if they make a skimmer for the 12, you probably won't need one anyway.

Ok. Nevermind about the tank. I'm getting a biocube that is also fan cooled. I have also bought some t5's for it. Is this light ok

good choice.

I have heard the nanocubes like to crack at the corners.

T5 will be good to keep most LPS and softies! You could prolly get some beginner SPS too.

The biocube doesn't come with lights in the hood? or have you upgraded?

:hi: to TFF and the salty side

T5 lighting will be great for many soft corals and some hard corals - good choice at a realistic cost to buy and run

What are your plans and will you be starting a journel so we can follow your progress?
