I started the cycle for a 24g Nano on 01/20 and I'm planning my next move when the cycle completes (3-4 wks.). Rather than pick a clean-up crew ala carte, I was wondering whether someone could suggest a package suitable for this size tank. The only package I've seen worth considering so far is marine depots 30G package, but I'm wondering about the size of the package and adding so many critters en masse. The package consists of:

Snails: 10 cerith, 5 nassarius, 10 nerite, 1 queen conch, 10 mexican turbo
1 sand sifting starfish
Hermits: 10 Blue Leg, 10 mexican red leg
1 cleaner shrimp

Other smaller packages I've seen consist of less worthy snails like Margarita (they supposedly can't right themselves if they tip over) or bumblebee (predatory nature).

So far, the cycle seems to be going as expected. The tank contains about ~26# cured live rock and 15-20# aragmax (not live) sand.
After 2 days, the parameters were:
Temp: 76, SG 1.024, PH 8.1, Ammonia 0.25

Hitchhikers found so far: stomatella varia, feather duster, a small red worm about the size of a pin (presumably a bristle worm but not yet positively identified), one other translucent tube sticking out of a hole in the bottom of one of the rocks. It's about one inch long and moves its position at times (any thoughts?).

Here's a pic with the HQI light off.

the only clean up crew i have in my 8 gallon tank is - 3 turbo snails and a blue legged hermit crab. What are the snail the sift up the sand?

I have a 14G and my CUC consists of:

4 trochus
4 nass.
2 bumblebees
2 margaritas
5 bluelegs
1 blood shrimp
1 long spine urchin

the nass snails are the sand sifters, really happy with this crew, Thats my recomendation!

dont go with that package thats a lot of inverts and allthough they dont add much bio strain on your tank they also will need food and they could outcompete eachother
