New Monsters!

They are to be added to my 2nd Polypterus collection.

2x Polypterus Endlicheri (one normal color, one grey, both with external gills, both Japan breed)

4x Channa pleuro

Thanks. Polys are hugely popular with hardcore perfectionist breeders here in Japan, so we do get some smashing looking ones!

Good job at making us jealous ! Not sure how much yen is to the £ but i've never seen a bichir bichir in the uk before and imagine if one does come in they'll be really really expensive!

I hope to get an Endlicherri soon , which one's are you missing from your collection?
Do you have them a tank per type of Poly or just mixed together? I've not seen any agression issues with mine mixed yet.

Quick update, the Pleuros are active little buggers! Never seen anything like it.
Nelly, you have experience with Pleuros, are they always this active? What's the growth rate like?

oh yes, they are exstremely active, more at a young age, but mine were always on the go, but unfortunatly one day the female turned on the male leading to death, was gutted,

Would love to tell you it's a BichirBichir, but looks more like a Polypterus "Lapradei" Possibly Guinea variant.
But I could be wrong.
Lapradei very often get sold as "bichibichir" at extortionate prices.
If it is yours, please post some side on shots I could confirm for you.
If it is a Bichir which you are looking to buy, be VERY careful. Ask to see certification if it is being sold as BichirBichir.

Nice looking fella though. I have 5 Lapradei, they are great Bichirs. They get pretty large too!
