Hi everyone

I am new to this forum although not entirely new to fish keeping having been in the hobby for just over two years now. I currently have two tanks, both freshwater planted tanks. Not planted in the serious sense, just simple gravel and sand substrates.

Tank number 1 is a Fluval Roma 120 litre aquarium with a Fluval U4 internal filter and is stocked with 7 Tiger Barbs, 1 orange and brown Bristlenose Pleco, 1 King Tiger Pleco, 1 Zebra Danio (his 5 cohorts sadly passed away), 2 Amano Shrimp and 50+ Red Cherry Shrimp. The tank is furnished with some rocks and several largish pieces of bogwood for the plecs. Plants are Java Fern and some generic grasses and assorted other "beginner" plants.

Tank number 2 is a Fluval Venezia 190 litre corner aquarium with a Fluval (you may have noticed a pattern emerging) 406 external canister filter and is stocked with 4 Geophagus Red Head Tapajos, 1 Red Tailed Black Shark, 1 Bristlenose pleco and 6 Amano Shrimp. The tank is furnished with a massive bit of driftwood, a bit of live rock and several pieces of bogwood for Mr B (the plec). Plants are Java Fern, Java Moss and some more generic beginner plants.

Tank number 1 has been running for roughly 2.5 years now and tank number 2 for just over 2 and other than losing several Zebra Danios and a few Tiger Barbs, all of which were less hardy human bred strains, everything has been running pretty well. Certainly better than my first introduction to fish keeping as a child when I got the usual pet shop special of 8 Goldfish in a 5 gallon tank and everything died within 5 months.

I hopefully plan on acquiring a few more tanks down the line and may at some point even build myself (by that, get someone build me) a massive monster tank for some Peacock Bass, although that is just at the early dream stage for now. Anyway, that is it for now, if anyone wants to know anything more about either setup let me know and i'll be glad to share what limited wisdom I have on the matter. Thanks for reading.
